NIKON SCAN 4 DOWNLOAD XP INSTALL
klik on install drivers.įirst install the software you DL from the Nikon website.īy the way there are 2 types of firewire, firewire 400 and firewire 800! If so, and if it's the firewire or scanner. Go to control panel, administrative tools- hardware and look for any note of exclamation/exclamation mark. Probably the drivers for the scanner are not installed. Looks like I need a 6 pin to 4 pin connector. Took a fresh look at everything today and it seems like the connector cable I was given doesn't work-since I keep getting "unable to find any active devices". If he didn't give you the firewire card that was included, you can buy one for cheap anywhere else and put it in a free pci slot. It seems there was a firewire card included in the package, so if you have a free pci slot, you can put in there and connect the scanner to that plug. So, most likely the scanner was used on a mac. Seems like you got a firewire cable instead of a usb cable. May try another cable tomorrow and if that doesn't work might have to dust off old PC -add a pci card-scan then transfer pics to my laptop. My laptop has a IEEE 1934 slot (which from all accounts seems to be fuctional) so we tried to connect scanner with firewire cable that fit into the slot on my laptop but my computer just wouldn't "read" that I had the scanner connected.

What's so frustrating is I went over to see him earlier and he was able to download the correct driver on his Mac (laptop) -connect the scanner via firewire cable and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes.

Problem is though I am on a laptop and from the looks of the manual I can't install a firewire card.
